GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Mesa County Sheriff's Deputies have made an arrest on multiple counts of theft.
A homeless man, 26 year old David Gillespie, faces one felony and two misdemeanor charges of theft for an incident earlier this year.
In May,15 bronze vases and urns were reported missing from the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, primarily from the headstones of veterans.
The estimated loss was reported to be $9,000.
Local recycling centers were notified to be on the lookout for the items, and on June 20, one of the businesses notified the Grand Junction Police Department that Gillespie had brought similar items to them for sale and recycling.
Sheriff's Deputies got a warrant for his arrest, and he was then transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility on Tuesday.
