GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – A 27-year-old man coming from Infinity Nightclub in Clifton, is arrested after stealing a woman’s car and driving it into a train around midnight.

The Grand Junction Police Department says David Goebel got on the railroad tracks traveling westbound and reaching 29 ½ Road where he swerved to avoid the train. The train took the passenger side of the car off.

Police says Goebel left the car and was found 30 minutes after the incident off of 28 Road and I-70 B. He was then taken into custody where investigators found the car keys on him. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor.

There was no damage done to the train and the engineer and conductor did stop. This case is still under investigation.
