Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) - It's a walking event that many Americans participate in every year to help bring hope to babies that are born premature or sick.
On Tuesday, the March of Dimes in Grand junction is celebrating its 75th year and is kicking off the new year by recognizing last year's outstanding fundraisers. The event took place at Allen Unique Autos Grand Junction.
"One of ten babies are born prematurely or with critical health issues.” It's just a good feeling to say thanks and show our appreciation for what’s been done for us and to help other families you know realize that same goal," says resident David Talbott.
The March of Dimes walk in Grand Junction will take place at Lincoln Park, on April 27, starting at 9 a.m.
Last year there were nearly 1,000 walkers, and officials hope to top that turn out this year.
