Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – Dental hygiene can be an issue for young people, especially since paying for dental work tends to be expensive.

The Marillac Clinic and Primary Care Partners have teamed up to provide families on Medicaid a solution to this problem. On Tuesday, they held an official ribbon cutting event for their new dental office located at 3150 N. 12th street. Health officials say it's imperative that children get proper dental care.

"Bad dental care can lead to other problems down the road from simple things like not being able to eat your food to potential problems such as heart disease for people as bacteria can lead to worsening heart disease," says Michael Pramenko, MD.

The dental facility shares a suite with the primary care office for children. It's an easy way for kids to receive either type of medical treatment they need in one convenient location.
