GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – The Clifton exit off I-70 was temporarily closed down this afternoon a little after 5 p.m. after a motorcycle accident.

Motorists told Colorado State Patrol troopers they saw two motorcycles traveling at high rates of speed prior to the accident.

Only one motorcycle hit the retaining wall on the off-ramp. A 52-year-old man was taken to a local hospital. He was not wearing a helmet.

Troopers say alcohol and speed maybe contributing factors to the accident.
