National Travel and Tourism week hits Grand Valley

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - In the Grand Valley, nearly 15% of all jobs are in the tourism industry.

In our neck of the woods tourism is a large basic industry, meaning the majority of the profits the industry brings in are considered "new dollars".

National travel and tourism week is always the first week of May, and it is usually accompanied by events highlighting both the impact tourism has on the community and the benefits travel can have on the individual.
