GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- A new study for cancer prevention is seeking participants in the Western Slope, and you may be able to help.

St. Mary's Hospital is teaming up with the American Cancer Society to begin a historic cancer prevention study.

The study, titled CPS-3, is seeking 500 men and women between the ages of 30- and 65-years-old who have never been diagnosed with cancer-- excluding basal or squamous cell skin cancer.

You have to be willing to commit to the long-term study by completing periodic surveys.

If anyone in the Western Slope is interested in participating in the study, you can head to St. Mary's Hospital June, 26, 27, 28 and 29 or head to the cancer study’s website linked below under Related Links.

They will be measuring your waist, taking a small blood draw and administering a short survey to enroll participants in the study.
