Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) - The calendar has flipped to a new year, and with that, resolutions are made. It's a time for new beginnings, and for those in search of a job, the New Year means a fresh start in 2013. Here's what you need to know more about finding one.

Job seekers should use the New Year to organize: have a list of places you want to target, have list of places you have applied to, and write down who you have talked to inside an organization as well as when you spoke to them and a brief comment about the conversation.

Have a simple goal in mind to try and send at least one to four resumes out a day. Remember that looking for a job is a full-time job.

"You kind of have to do the marketing game of if you send out ten applications a day, you’re going to get 10 percent response. You just have to keep going. It's the thinking outside the box that is going to get your resume noticed. In an interview, whatever it is, your appearance has to stand out, and so that is your goal is to make-- your self stand out," says Chris Cline, owner of Christian Counseling Center.

Cline also suggests having a smart phone so you can check your e-mails, even when you are away from your home. Also with technology, it's suggested you have a professional Facebook page for employers to look at as you might not have the most flattering things on your personal page.
