One Book, One Mesa County 2013 begins

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Mesa County Public Libraries are hoping to unify hundreds through reading a book for the tenth year.

One Book, One Mesa County announced its 2013 book, which is 'A Tale for the Time Being' by Ruth Ozeki.

The program's co-chair Angie Allen said this fictional novel has a powerful story line that covers a variety of universal subjects.

"Grief, loss, love, happiness, family," Allen said. "The things that unite us as people are the things that we end up talking about at one book."

The One Book program is also offering panel discussions, movies, cooking and craft lessons and more to coincide with the book.

The campaign culminates with a visit from the book's author Ruth Ozeki March 1.
