One dead, another injured in crash near Eagle

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) -- A woman is killed and a man seriously injured after a vehicle they're riding in rolls off I-70 near Eagle.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon. The Volvo was traveling westbound on I-70 near mile marker 146 when it drove into the center median before rolling onto the roof.

A 41-year old woman died from her injuries at the Vail Valley Medical Center, and a 40-year old man was transported to VVMC before being airlifted to Denver Health Medical Center. He's being listed in serious, but stable condition.

The driver was a 37-year old man who suffered moderate injuries. There was also an 8-year old boy in the car who suffered minor injuries.

All occupants are from Boulder. Drugs and alcohol are not being considered as factors in the crash, and all passengers were wearing seat belts.

The driver was cited for careless driving.
