Overnight death prompts investigation

MESA COUNTY, Colo. The death of a man overnight is prompting an investigation by the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.

Just after 4:00 a.m. Wednesday morning police received a call saying a person heard a gunshot while they were taking a morning walk in a neighborhood off D 1/2 Road.

When police arrived on scene they found a person dead.

Authorities with the Sheriff's Office would not comment as to the nature of the death, but they are investigating the situation at this time.
