MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) -- A kidnapping in north Grand Junction was not a random act, sheriff's officials say.
About a week ago, a woman reported being kidnapped on June 4 and released the next day, according to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.
Now, investigators say the woman was targeted by the suspect for a potential ransom.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a medium build and 6 feet tall.
Investigators were asking that anyone in the area of 21 to 23 roads north of L Road on June 4 around 8 p.m. call 970-244-3252 if they saw anything strange.
No further details were released as the case is active and on-going.
