DELTA COUNTY, Colo. With more than 100 Delta County miners newly without jobs, a few local groups are working together to help bring a sense of normalcy for the holidays.

Crossroads Victory Church in Montrose is teaming up with several other churches to collect food for an oxbow relief effort during the holidays, and they need your help.

"We're reaching out to provide food to the miners who've lost their jobs," says Crossroads Victory Church Senior Pastor, Chris Peterson. "We're working with a combination of local churches here and in the Paonia area, Delta, Olathe, to provide food."

If you want to help, you can donate money or nonperishable food items to Crossroads Victory Church (515 S. Hillcrest Dr., Montrose) over the next ten days.

For those affected by the mine's idling, you can collect food at the old middle school gym in Paonia on December 14th at 218 4th St., Paonia.
