PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO) -- Early Saturday morning, police in Palisade responded to the scene of stabbing.

Around 2 a.m., authorities received a 911 call for a potential stabbing at the 700 block and 37 9/10 Road. Once they arrived they saw a large crowd and discovered the victim at the 100 block of Bower Ave.

"There were people scattered everywhere when we arrived. It wasn't one of those perfect scenes where everything is in one place," said Tony Erickson, Palisade Chief of Police.

Police identified a 43-year-old male victim who was stabbed. The man is in stable condition. Authorities do believe alcohol was involved.

And they have made an arrest on a first degree assault charge, which could potentially become an attempted murder charge; however, police are still investigating the scene.
