GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Getting into the holiday spirit, one local business is offering its customers discounts in exchange for donations.

Countryside Service Inc., a plumbing and drain cleaning company, is letting those who hire the company to pay off their bill in food and toy gifts to charities.

Through December, people can get $1 off for every non-perishable food item given to local food banks, and $5 off for every new, unwrapped toy given to Toys for Tots.

The deal is for any service – plumping, drainage or sewage.

The owner, Darien Marx, says this promotion is a good way to help customers who are struggling financially and help local nonprofits that are having a hard time keeping up with demand.
