UPDATE: Pedestrian hit, killed by motorist on Broadway
MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) -- New details are emerging about a tragic New Year's death in the Redlands Tuesday night.
A 73-year-old man was walking south across Broadway (Highway 340) at Greenwood Drive around 6 p.m. There was no crosswalk in the area.
As he crossed the road, he was struck by a Chevrolet Uplander, driven by a 68-year-old Grand Junction man, Colorado State Patrol says.
The pedestrian died on scene from his injuries.
Broadway was closed for several hours as troopers investigated the incident.
No charges have been filed at this time.
