GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)_ A plane on its way from Los Angeles to Denver made an emergency landing in Grand Junction when there was a fear of smoke in the cargo area.

According to a press release from the Grand Junction Regional Airport, an initial update expressed concerns of a possible bomb in the cargo area. The release says that report turned out to be a miscommunication between flight crew and air traffic control. After further inspection the crew clarified that there was no suspected bomb and that the cargo area smoke indicator light was the only issue.

The plane safely landed with 109 people on board. The Grand Junction Fire Department inspected the plane and found no smoke.
