GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Nearly 1,000 residents in the Redlands lost power overnight.

As of 9:45 a.m. power has been restored to all of the homes that lost power.

It happened after a driver crashed into a power pole which resulted in power lines coming down.

The crash happened in the 2200 block of South Broadway just after midnight.

State Patrol Officers say the driver missed a curve and struck the pole, snapping it in half and pulling down some power lines.

Officers suspect marijuana may have been involved in the crash. The driver was arrested at the scene. No one else was injured in the crash.

Xcel reported a total of 3 outages - affecting 1,000 people - and says power could be restored after 8 a.m.
