Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – There’s only four of them, but somehow you manage to see them just about everywhere riding their bikes and sporting yellow shirts.

They are the Grand Junction Park Patrol Officers. They patrol parks, Main Street downtown, and in general are the extra pair of ears and eyes for the Grand Junction Police. Even though they're not police officers, they can still write tickets, and they work directly with the Grand Junction Police Department.

"Oh I think it's wonderful, every time we come down here I bring my great grand kids, their always riding through here and it's really nice to see somebody here," says Judi Towns, a local Grand Junction resident.

Most of those involved in the park patrol program, hope it will lead to a career with the police department.
