Police searching for armed robbery suspect

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Grand Junction Police are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery.

Authorities say around 4 p.m. a man went into the Check Into Cash on Rimrock Avenue with a gun. They say he forced employees to lay down on the floor and took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Sgt. Derek Rosales with the Grand Junction Police Department said authorities are searching for the suspect with K-9 units after he ran off either north or west of the business. He also said they discovered a weapon near the scene they believe to be the one used in the robbery.

The suspect is a man in his 20s, about 6' tall and weighs between 140 and 150 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie, jeans and blue and white tennis shoes. The hoodie has a silver design on it and witnesses say the suspect had sunglasses on. Police say the man has no facial hair, but does have acne. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
