GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A mother and her 14-month-old are recovering in a hospital Sunday night after rolling their vehicle.
The Grand Junction Police Department responded to the accident around 4:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say a Pontiac G6 was traveling eastbound on I-70 near mile marker 30.
The 21-year-old driver was trying to pass a semi truck. That's when she says it crossed into her lane, causing her to run off the road, overcorrect and roll her car.
Both she and her 14-month old infant were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police say the child was properly strained which helped minimize the injuries.
Neither driver has been cited in the accident, but police say the Poniac has been totaled.
