GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - One family received a special gift this holiday season - the return of their son from his deployment overseas.
It's been almost a year since Petty Officer Joshua Gregg last saw his family, but today that all changed.
He flew home and was greeted by a swarm of loved ones, and while his stay in the states is only until December 12th, he and his family plan on spending every moment together.
"What I understood is mom made a Thanksgiving dinner for me," said Petty Officer Gregg, "so that's even better. I'm really hungry and can't wait for her cooking. Shipped food is alright, but mom's food is, of course, you can't compare."
While Petty Officer Gregg was overjoyed to be home during the holiday season, he has already enlisted for another 5-year term with the U.S. Navy saying his work was not yet finished.
