Satellite sun outages affects Optimum Cable

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- The phenomenon known as "sun outage" is sweeping the Western Slope.

This TV/radio outage means that satellite signals will be receiving interference from solar radiation, which could cause picture quality and sound to not be as clear as you are used to.

The sun outages do not affect internet or phone service, but this one could be in effect until Saturday, Oct. 13.

We spoke to Optimum today, and they said it's not just Optimum that is affected by this phenomenon; it’s all cable companies across the United States.
