Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – Here is another scam to warn you about. This one is targeting Dish Network customers. Recently the company sent an email to customers letting them know what to watch out for.

Dish says customers are receiving calls from people claiming to be representatives of the company. The person on the phone attempts to collect money for a special promotion or upgrades. They ask for credit card numbers or money to be sent through Western Union or Green Dot. Dish says they will never call you to collect money for an upgrade you have not asked for. "Maybe your credit card is expiring and they need that updated information, you can actually do all that online at dish dot com. So there's no reason that you could have to give that out over the phone, you can just tell them hey I want to update this online protect yourself that way. You never want to give that personal information over the phone when you don't know exactly who you’re talking with," says David Call, operations manager at Big Dog Satellite TV.

Dish Network encourages says you should hang up on the caller and call them back directly. Your nearest Dish provider can also help you.
