PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO) -- Dogs and their owners gathered at the Blue Pig Gallery in Palisade to get their portraits sketched for the second annual "Paint your Pooch" event.

Using pastels and paint, three local artists offered their services to benefit the Roice-Hurst Humane Society.

Each painting cost $40, with a percentage donated to the no-kill organization that chooses to find homes for homeless dogs rather than euthanize them.

Last year 75 dogs pictures were painted, raising nearly $400 for the humane society, and the hope is to get more support this year.
