Suspect's father arrested in Glen Rd. shooting

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Another suspect has been taken into custody, linked to the Feb. 16 shooting on Glen Road.

Michael Joseph Renteria Sr. was arrested on charges of complicity in the attempted murder of Frank Rodriguez-- who was shot in the incident-- as well as assault, burglary, menacing and more.

The 47-year-old is the father of the initial suspect in the case, Michael Joseph Renteria Jr.

Grand Junction Police say they believe on Feb. 16, Renteria Sr. went to the house on Glen Road with his son and a third person. Renteria Sr. assaulted three people with a bat, and Renteria Jr. shot Frank Rodriguez, according to arrest affidavits.

The affidavits say Renteria Sr. initially went to the house to pick up his grandson with Renteria Jr.

The investigation is ongoing.
