Semi crash closes Hwy 50 between Montrose, Gunnison

MONTROSE COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) -- Highway 50 between Montrose and Gunnison has been completely reopened after after an overnight semi-truck accident.

Colorado State Patrol says a semi tanker hauling gasoline crashed near milemarker 124 along Highway 50 around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver suffered minor injuries, as did the passenger, who was taken to the hospital.

Hazmat crews have been called to the scene. If you're headed in that direction, you may need to plan a little extra time.

Both lanes were initially closed, but just after noon, one lane of traffic was reopened. The second was cleared around 3:45 p.m.
