NEAR GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (KKCO) - It was a not so lucky Saint Patrick's Day for some travelers on I-70 returning to Grand Junction.
A semi truck crash closed I-70 westbound in the Glenwood Canyon for nearly four hours Sunday afternoon.
Colorado State Patrol reported to the scene of the accident. Officials say the truck driver lost control of his tractor trailer that was hauling steel pipe. The semi rolled and blocked both lanes of traffic before eastbound lanes were cleared.
Westbound traffic was diverted to Dotsero and then turned around toward Gypsum.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Fortunately only minor injuries were suffered in the crash.
