Sleep-N-Aire closing after 23 years in the valley

Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) - One of Grand Junction's original mattress distributors is getting ready to close their doors for the final time.

Sleep-N-Aire has been in the valley for 23 years. Originally it was one of the only locations you could get a custom manufactured mattress. Over the years that changed. Currently the store is only a mattress distributor. The company has discounted many items in hopes to close their doors in March when all inventory is gone.

"There is a lot of competition here in Grand Junction with a lot of people selling mattresses. It's just the combination of that and the economy. It was just impossible to keep the doors open. I am sorry to see the store go, it's been here a long long time and it's a great location. A lot of businesses are facing this situation right now and we're one of them," says Tim Minnick, store manager.

Store employees say they are thankful to the Grand Valley for all the support they have received over the years.
