GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- St. Mary's Hospital is getting a face-lift and today the hospital announced who will be taking on the construction project.
The President and CEO of St. Mary's Hospital, Mike McBride, announced that FCI Constructors was awarded the contract for the 40 million dollar Century Project.
The project will renovate four floors of the hospital and create local jobs for Mesa County.
FCI is a local construction company and says they plan on hiring locally.
"We estimated 30 to 35 subcontractors involved and all 300 tradesman through the course of the work and the duration is pretty long- about three years," said Stan Kiser of FCI Constructors.
FCI started construction on the top four floors of the hospital a few years back and the decision was made by St. Mary's officials to not finish the project, but now the FCI can complete the "new vision" of the hospital.
Construction is set to begin this fall.
