GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Grand Junction Regional Airport could become the new home of a Canadian company's aeronautical division.

State Senator Steve King said Grand Junction is hoping to bring Coulson Group's firefighting aviation technology here.

The company converts C-130s into air tankers and coordinates helicopters to help fight wildfires.

The idea is just in the preliminary stages, but Senator King said the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce and the Grand Junction Economic Partnership will be instrumental in getting a new industry, and then more jobs, into the area.

"I think this Grand Valley is up for that," Senator King said. "I think GJEP is up for that. I think the Chamber's up for that. We're hungry for new and expanding industries in this valley."
