Stolen Collbran ambulance found

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) The ambulance stolen from the Plateau Valley Fire Protection District has been found.

Authorities in La Junta say the ambulance was found abandoned in a hospital parking lot around 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, according to PVFD Chief Mike Lockwood. The ambulance is currently being processed by the local authorities and will be released to the PVFD at a later time.

There are no suspects in the case at this time, but an investigation will be launched after the ambulance is processed.

On Monday night, an unidentified person entered the fire station in Collbran and removed the ambulance from the premises.

The vehicle is a 2004 GMC with a license plate of 358-TDO, and has Collbran written on the front and sides.
