Students compete for top honors at science fair

Middle and high school students have put in months of research, and Friday, they earned the right to present their science projects at Colorado Mesa University for the Colorado Regional Science Fair.

Fourteen regions were represented with a total of 75 different projects, ranging from how a forest fire can affect the water in the area, to an indoor biomass cooking stove.

In all, 15 to 20 winners will be selected to move on to the 58th Colorado Science and Engineering Fair in Fort Collins, April 11 to 13.
