Tourism open house attracts lots of attention

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Local tourism industry leaders come together yesterday for a special open house showcasing some of the Western Slope's most exciting summer attractions.

The Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Center hosted an open house Wednesday morning in honor of National Tourism Week.

Representatives from 29 different tourism organizations came to promote all the wonderful activities that can be found in the Grand Valley.

"We're a small package that offers all the big city amenities and I think people don't realize how much we do offer,” says Mistalynn Meyeraan.

There's something for everyone to enjoy here in the Grand Valley whether you're interested in wine tasting or mountain biking and rock climbing.

Tourism is one of the industries that supports the Western Slope, so it's the hope of the Visitor Center to attract newcomers throughout the year.
