GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) The Colorado National Guard Family Readiness Program is asking the community to donate a new, unwrapped toy to a military child in need. Organizers say your donation will help military families that are struggling during this time of the year. Every little bit helps, and organizers thank you for your donation.
The Colorado National Guard Family Readiness Program is also hosting a "toys for all tiny Soldiers" shopping event on December 15th, from 9am-2pm at the Grand Junction National Guard Readiness Center. That's at 2820 Riverside Parkway, behind the Regional Center on D Road. Organizers say the event is open to military families that could use a little assistance with the cost of holiday shopping. All branches of the military, reserves, national guard, and veterans are welcome. Officials say bring the family and come join other military families for a fun, free day of shopping. You will be asking to present a military id.
