MESA COUNTY, Colo. (KKCO) -- You may want to allocate more time for your commute in the weeks ahead.
Workers will be breaking ground on three new road reconstruction projects on Monday, April 8.
Here is an overview of each project from City of Grand Junction Public Works & Planning Department.
I-70 B Reconstruction Phase 3
The Colorado Department of Transportation will work to improve the area of I-70 B between 25 Road to about 1,000 feet east of the Rimrock Avenue intersection. Crews will add a third lane in each direction, improve intersections and access, and reconstruct the concrete.
Here's how it will affect traffic:
22 Road Realignment Project
In this project, U.S. Highway 6 will be reconstructed between Valley Court and the Exit 26 Interchange (about 1/3 of a mile). A new connecting street will link Valley Court and 22 Road, and the new intersection will move 500 feet west of its current location to improve safety.
