GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- With Thanksgiving less than a week away, it may be time to start thinking about your Christmas tree.
If you want to cut down your own Christmas tree this year, you must have a valid permit.
Permits are now available through the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. They are $8 to $10 per tree.
You can get permits at the Grand Valley District Office, located at 2777 Crossroads Boulevard Suite 1, or the Grand Junction BLM Field Office at 2815 H Road.
On the Mesa, buy your permit at the Ol' Grand Mesa Corner Store on Highway 65, and people in Montrose, go to the Public Lands Center at 2465 South Townsend Avenue.
