MONTROSE, Colo. With Christmas just 2 weeks away it's about time to start spreading that holiday cheer.

Downtown Montrose's first annual Twelve Days of Christmas Scavenger Hunt begins Thursday.

Organizers say they hope it will keep shoppers entertained while also bringing more business to stores downtown.

"All of the stores are good about ensuring that they have something happening in their location to bring people in," says Downtown Montrose promotions committee chair, Yesenia Duncan. "We do our best to bring people downtown and hope that the stores can bring people into their doors."

Each day, a new cut out will be placed at several stores across town.

Residents can go on the downtown Montrose Facebook page to find which cut out they're looking for and where to find it.

The grand prize winner will get 250 Montrose bucks to use anywhere in Ddowntown Montrose.
