Two-story building fire put out by GJFD

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – The Grand Junction Fire Department was called out to a two-story building fire at 202 South 2nd Street on Sunday morning.

The building is a brick commercial structure that had heavy smoke coming from the roof and second floor. It appears to be abandoned.

Crews were able to knock down the fire on the second floor quickly and then put out the rest of the fire.

The structure suffered significant damage on the second floor from the fire. No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
