Udall presses to restore local surgery services for Vets

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Senator Mark Udall is cutting through the red tape and allowing the Grand Junction VA Medical Center to restore surgery services.

The Grand Junction VA Medical Center was forced to halt access to some surgical procedures following a September 2011 review, flagging some infection rate concerns.

However, the Department of Veteran Affairs, later admitted the findings were a statistical anomaly and in fact, the medical center's surgery facilities were safe.

Udall called the Department of Veteran Affairs to bring back the surgical services to Grand Junction, so our local Vets won't have to travel to the Front Range or Utah for critical health services.
