Volunteers begin construction on Three Sisters Trail

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -- Bike enthusiasts in the Valley celebrate as volunteers begin trail construction on the Three Sisters Project Saturday.

The Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association, or COPMOBA, designed the new trail. It will extend from the existing Kids Meal Trail at the Lunch Loop. Local groups have been fundraising to build this new trail for some time.

COPMOBA also uses volunteers to build its trails and provides tools and instruction. Volunteers can register to help out by visiting COPMOBA’s website, www.COPMOBA.org.

COPMOBA and Mesa Land Trust also hosted Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day on the Three Sisters. Kids rode in the morning and enjoyed the trails, while adults started construction. At noon, everyone joined in on the construction. After the work, COPMOBA provided a barbeque for those who participated.
