GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Over the next few days graduating Grand Valley seniors will receive their diplomas. Students will say goodbye to the halls they've grown up in and teachers they've created close bonds with.
This was the smallest graduating class Central High has seen in years with only 267 walking across the stage instead of the average of about 325, but being a small classes didn't stop these students from working hard.
After years of dedication the warriors can finally say they're high school graduates, but it took a lot of time and energy to get to this point.
"The hardest part honestly is probably being motivated to keep going because there are always distractions," Patrick Hutchinson, Graduate.
Getting through the awkward teenage years on top of dealing with essays, finals and homework put many to the test but they all passed with flying colors and rain or shine got to spend the day celebrating their accomplishment.
They're not the only ones who are excited about the future.
Central High principal Jody Diers has a special bond with all of her students and says she has one more piece of advice to give them before they officially become adults, "I want them to show people the good heart that they have because these kids they're just wonderful and i love each and every one of them."
