PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO) Winefest has a giant economic impact on Palisade and Grand Junction.

Officials at the Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Bureau said they expect to see 5,000 to 7,000 people. Each person spends $150 on average, so officials expect to see between $500,000 to $1 million at the end of the weekend.

Ticket sales saw an 40-percent increase this year compared to last year according to Cassidee Shull at the Colorado Association for Viticulture and Ecology.

Employees from Talon Winery's said the exposure of their product to visitors from all over the country help with their sales.
