Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) - Wine and food tasting is a favorite pastime here in the Grand Valley.
Wednesday evening, guests were able to enjoy both of those while having an impact on the community.
Fisher's Liquor Barn held its annual "United Way Food and Wine” fundraiser.
The event was held at Two Rivers Winery, and participants were able to taste over 150 different types of wine and a variety of foods from Cowboy and the Rose Catering.
Both a silent auction and a live auction were held to help raise money. Tickets for the event cost $30 dollars each or $55 for a couple with all the proceeds going to benefit United Way of Mesa County.
This is the 125th anniversary for the United Way, and with that in mind, they have set a goal of raising $1.25 million this year.
The United Way works to provide vital programs for people all over Mesa County and is now accepting applications from nonprofits seeking funding from the organization.
