Accident causes traffic backup on Highway 50

The eastbound lanes on Highway 50 near the Mesa-Delta County lines are back open after being closed for a few hours earlier due to an accident.

The Colorado State Patrol tells us the accident happened near mile marker 48. They do not believe it resulted in any injuries.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation but troopers believe it was weather related.
