Through the next couple days winds will be quick moving coming out of the southwest bringing in dry air. This will promote fire weather danger from today through Friday as wind gusts could be as high as 40mph during the afternoon. Dry fuels at the surface are lacking through the northern Grand Valley therefore a red flag warning has not been issued through the area. However, areas south of I-70 namely Montrose, Delta, and Gunnison county will be under the warning from noon to 9pm tomorrow. These winds will also usher in very warm air helping to heat up the surface bringing afternoon highs into the middle to upper 80's through the rest of the week and into the weekend.
The high pressure ridge which will be influencing our weather will move slowly eastward by early next week. Only slightly cooler air will be present next week as we stay in the lower 80's during the afternoon. Little to no mid-level moisture will exist during the extended forecast this means clouds will be few and far between in the skyline. Memorial day on Monday looks to be perfect for some outdoor grilling or a day on the water as temperatures will be in the low 50's in the morning and low 80's during the afternoon with a sunny skies.
