Disabled Veteran fights to save his dogs life

Many animal lovers understand the strong bond between a person and their dog. One disabled Veteran said his dog is a part of the family, but the dog faces being euthanized next week.

Jeremy Aguilar said his dog Dutch doesn't have a vicious bone in his body, and said when he bit a woman last fall it was not only uncharacteristic of the dog, but he claims the dog was abused and provoked beforehand. Now Aguilar is fighting to keep his best friend alive.

"You can't do that to somebody's family member, a dog that means so much to me and people are realizing how much this dog means to me," said Aguilar. "People are like wow you would go to the end of the world for this dog I said yes, because if he was in my shoes and I was in his he would do the same for me."

Aguilar started a Facebook page and has gotten an outpouring of support, more than 13,000 people have liked the page.

Aguilar and Dutch will appear in Montrose Court on Thursday, February 14 for an official sentencing.

If you would like to show your support for Aguilar and his dog you can visit the Facebook page at: Save Dutch.
