GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – A man and a woman are in the hospital after an explosion at a Grand Junction home.
The incident happened at 1332 N. 23rd Street around 1:30 p.m., according to Grand Junction Police spokesperson Kate Porras. Two people were inside the house when a detonation went off inside the home’s safe. Five windows were blown out by the blast.
The man and woman suffered what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, Porras says.
A bomb technician has been called into investigate the cause of the explosion, but police assure neighbors that the incident does not pose a risk to nearby houses. No evacuations are necessary.
