DENVER (AP) -- Authorities say an empty coal train derailed and sparked several small grass fires near Sterling in northeastern Colorado.
KUSA-TV reports (http://on9news.tv/13wfT4z ) the train derailed at about 8:40 a.m. Saturday. No injuries were reported.
Sterling Fire Department officials say a portion of Highway 138 east of the city was closed because of the derailment, but all of the grass fires have been contained.
