No. 4 Lady Mavs hold strong, CMU men fall to No. 1 Metro St.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- In front of a packed house, Colorado Mesa's basketball teams faced off with league-rival Metro State on Friday.

The No. 4 Lady Mavericks had a tough fight against the preseason RMAC favorite, the Lady Roadrunners, but it was the undefeated Mavericks who remained on top in the conference. Kelsey Sigl led the Mavs with 22 points in the 73-67 victory.

The No. 1 Metro State men's team prevailed over the Mavericks 64-52 thanks to a poor shooting performance by CMU.

Colorado Mesa shot 37% from the floor while Demetrius Miller was 9-for-13 with 24 points for the Roadrunners.

The Mavericks return to the court on Saturday to host Regis.
